Get to Know Me

Welcome! My name is Brandy Behrisch, I have been actively involved in childbirth in Fort McMurray for over 10 years. I am the proud married mother of 5 children, their births have led me to where I am today. I am certified as a birth and postpartum doula, a childbirth educator, and a breastfeeding educator. I have also studied midwifery.

With my first child I had an obstetrician in our local hospital. This birth was not what my husband or I were expecting nor a satisfying birth. For our second child we hired a birth doula, had our general practioner present and found a huge difference with our satisfaction levels. This second birth was the start of a huge change in our life and family. For the birth of our third child my husband and I hired a midwife and had an amazing experience with a home waterbirth. When it was time to welcome another child (our fourth) into our family, sadly, we were unable to hire a midwife so we had him on our own, at home, in water, unassisted. We now have 5 children, our fifth was also an unassisted homebirth in water, again, no midwives were available to hire.
